I   Agios Ioannis

The beach directly below the villas, and the easiest to reach — a walk down from Horizon Villas, or by car using the large municipal car park or the spaces along the beach road. It's a large, sandy beach, very well kept through the summer, though some algae can wash in after the off-season. The water starts shallow and deepens gently, so you can wade out comfortably. Two beach bars sit on it: Lalouza, the livelier of the two, and Fyki, more relaxed.

beach bar · on the sand · all-day

The first of the two beach bars on Agios Ioannis (full name LaLa Louza), in an idyllic spot at one end of the cove. Sunbeds and umbrellas to rent, food and drinks through the day, and music in the afternoons. Some recent reviews mention service can be uneven — fine for sunbeds and drinks, perhaps less the spot for a full meal.

beach bar · on the sand · all-day

The second beach bar (Φύκι), often called the best on the island by regulars — cheerful, easygoing staff and very kind owners. Sunbeds, drinks, snacks, and a relaxed beach-bar atmosphere through the day. The reliable pick on the sand.

II   Laouti

The next beach along, running from beside Agios Ioannis up to Agios Sostis — a five-to-seven-minute walk along the bay (around half a kilometre), with plenty of parking near the Riviera and Breeze. A long sandy stretch where the water stays shallow well out from shore, deepening only slowly, so it's easy for wading. Wind protection is low. Quieter and more low-key than the main beach — a good alternative on busy summer days — with the small Laouti settlement sitting just behind. Two beach bars sit here: Riviera, the larger and livelier, and Sea Breeze, more compact and relaxed.

beach bar + café · Laouti · ★ 4.8

A young, well-reviewed all-day spot at Laouti — beach bar and sunbeds by day, restaurant by evening, with one of the highest Tripadvisor scores in the area. A view over the water, decent food, and music. It also doubles as the bay's most reliable daytime café — speciality coffee, light brunch, juices, and cocktails as the day goes on.

beach bar · Laouti

A small, low-key café-restaurant in the bay, with fewer reviews than its neighbours but a good location. Worth confirming hours and what's on offer with the owner — limited information online.

III   Agios Sostis

The next cove south — the eastern end of the long Agios Ioannis bay, a thin, long stretch of fine sand running from the Agios Sostis church down toward Laouti, with parking near the church. The water is generally shallow, varying a little from one part of the beach to the next, so it's easy for wading and a safe bet with small children. There's little protection from the wind. About 5.5 km from Chora, or a short walk along the bay from Agios Ioannis Porto.

beach bar · Agios Sostis · ★ 4.2

The beach bar on Agios Sostis, the next bay south — food, drinks, signature cocktails, and sunbeds and umbrellas, with shallow calm water and tamarisk shade. About half a mile from Agios Ioannis Porto along the coast.

IV   Pachia Ammos

One of the island's most striking beaches — a secluded cove tucked between two hills with its own sand dune. Fine, faintly green sand against clear, shallow turquoise water, with rocky slabs at each end made for jumping and diving. Completely unorganized: no loungers, no shade but what you bring. About a 20-minute drive from Chora — a narrow road, then a ~100 m footpath down from the Pachia Ammos Country Club parking. Sheltered and wind-protected (and quiet, with some naturist use).

café · pool & snack bar · by the parking

A café, pool bar and snack bar by the parking above the beach, run by Maria Moraiti (Facebook "Παχειά άμμος Τήνος", 96% recommend over 18 reviews) — the spot for a cold drink or a bite before the footpath down. Worth confirming opening hours and exactly what's on offer locally.

V   Restaurants

A short walk back from the sand, the bay's kitchens — from sunbeds-and-plates by the water to a proper open-air dinner up at Porto.

seafood & Mediterranean · 20 m from the sand · ★ 4.6

Twenty metres from the beach — the closest proper restaurant to the sand (Μπαλαούρο). A calm, sophisticated room that reviewers rate the best beach taverna in the bay. Seafood-leaning Greek and Mediterranean cooking. A natural walk-back-from-the-water dinner — order the catch of the day.

café & Mediterranean · 2-min walk · ★ 4.6

A two-minute walk inland from Agios Ioannis. A relaxed, well-rated beachside tavern, easygoing and open from breakfast through dinner. A Mediterranean menu that runs all day. A good informal lunch after a morning on the sand — the grilled fish is the pick.

open-air · Cycladic cuisine · ★ 4.6 · #71 of 198

Up at Agios Ioannis Porto, with unobstructed views over the bay. A lovely open-air room with Cycladic decor — vibrant colours, minimal touches, charming and cosy. Cycladic specialities built on local ingredients, with Greek salads, spreads and local wines. Finish with one of the handmade desserts.

Agios Ioannis Porto

Up at Agios Ioannis Porto. A laid-back neighbourhood grill, with drinks and coffee alongside. Barbecue and charcoal-grilled dishes. Come for the grilled meats off the coals.

VI   Cafés

The bay's coffee is mostly the beach bars themselves: Riviera and Sea Breeze at Laouti, and Kapari at Agios Sostis all serve speciality coffee and brunch through the day — see each beach above. Breeze (in Restaurants) also runs from breakfast onward.

VII   Provisions

For whatever the suite is missing — bread, drinks, ice cream, and the basics, close to the bay.

mini market · Tinos–Agios Ioannis road, Laouti

The little grocery on the road into the bay (Η Μικρή Αγορά) — bread, drinks, ice cream (Chillato, Algida, Nestlé, EVGA), and snacks. It also delivers via Wolt. A useful first stop when you arrive and want to stock the suite, or for an ice cream on the walk back from the beach.
